PV Cement is a high performance engineered cement for treating waste with elevated levels of soluble metals, especially lead and zinc.
PV Cement blend is engineered with a specific alkali source and reactive sulfate component that reacts with soluble metals rendering them less soluble. PV Cement is also very absorbent making it ideal for treating liquid waste and prevents solid waste from becoming monolithic after treatment.
PV cement is used in the Environmental Industry for treatment of waste containing soluble metals. PV Cement is one of the most versatile and widely used reagent systems used in California. This is significant because of California’s STLC testing protocol that is far more aggressive than Federal TCLP protocol. PV Cement also has a pH indicator that allows the user to verify proper dosage in the field. This indicator raises the level of success and minimizes the need for retreating.
Applications for PV Cement include treating incinerator ash, metal recycling residue, contaminated soils, oil field waste, plating waste and other solid or liquid waste withsoluble metals. In most cases due to the stability on the end product, waste treated with PV Cement can be used as daily cover at landfills or engineered fill.
